Rio Bravo Community Center is one of nine
community centers that are under the direction of the County Judge and
Commissioners Court. Commissioner Frank Sciaraffa is the commissioner
for Precinct 1 and this is where Rio Bravo is located.
Our community center is a place where families can come for assistance
in many different areas. One service that we assist with is Utilities
such as light, water, gas, and rental through the Community Action
Agency. Our elderly are provided with a hot meal Monday through Friday.
They also enjoy the company of one another and find entertainment in
playing Loteria and Arts & Crafts. Once a month, the Food Bank is at the
center distributing out food bags and registering qualifying residents
for their program. We also provide hot meals for the Kids Café program
Monday through Friday ages 6 through 17.
Our center is also equipped with a Technology
lab that has 10 computers to assist residents of all ages with research
on the internet, write papers, and for job searching, also once a week
there is a movie that can be viewed.
There are many events that take place here at the Rio Bravo Community
Center. Different providers host meetings for the residents in this area
for the purpose to become aware of the services that they provide.
Please feel free to come by the center anytime and ask what events are
taking place. We are here to help you in the best way possible. With
your help we can continue to provide these exceptional services and
bring many more to your reach.
With our most Sincere Gratitude,
Gilbert Gonzalez
